Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA)

CFA Badge

On October 15, 2020 during a virtual meeting, the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) voted unanimously to award the Bartow Police Department with Accreditation status, with full compliance The CFA award will remain in good standing for three years.

The Accreditation process, in which the agency is evaluated on compliance with prescribed standards established by the CFA, has been a long one. In March of 2020 and then again in August 2020, a team of assessors from CFA conducted thorough on-site assessments of the Bartow Police Department, examining all aspects of policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The CFA assessors found the agency in full compliance with over 200 standards.

The Bartow Police Department is committed to providing our community with professional and best practices through oversight of the accreditation process. This is a significant accomplishment for the Bartow Police Department and one that our community should share pride in.
