Land development in the City of Bartow is governed by the City’s Unified Land Development Code (ULDC). The City’s ULDC was enacted pursuant to the requirements and authority of 163.3202, Florida Statutes (the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act), the City Charter, and the general powers enumerated in 166, Florida Statutes (City Government). The ULDC is the set of regulations for development within the City that implements the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Unless specifically exempted all development in Bartow shall be subject to the provisions of the ULDC, and no development shall be undertaken without prior authorization pursuant to the ULDC.
