The City of Bartow is kicking off its Capital City Clean-Up initiative in July 2024. The Capital City Clean-Up is a city-wide beautification initiative designed to address blight and crime, one neighborhood at a time. The initiative, which is part of the City’s Cleaner, Safer Neighborhoods Program, brings to bear all the City’s assets, resources and partnerships for the sole purpose of improving the quality of life within the City of Bartow.

Zone Approach

The City has been divided into zones. Each month, a different zone will be targeted for clean-up. The City will deploy personnel from departments to include Code Enforcement, Police, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Solid Waste, and Bartow Electric to that area to identify and remedy any issues that fall within their area of responsibility. Click here for a map of the zones.

What You Can Do

This program will only work with the assistance of our residents.  Residents will be notified with a letter and flier in their utility bill when the initiative reaches their area. At that time, we ask that you evaluate your home and surrounding property.  Click here for common Code violations.

We're here to help

During your designated month, identify items for removal, such as wrecked or inoperable vehicles, old furniture, or trash and debris lying around in and outside of your home. Plan to transport bulk items like furniture and old tires to authorized collection points in your area or place items too large for transport on the right-of-way in front of your home for collection, free-of-charge. Click here for more information about disposal options. We will work one-on-one with community members to address long-standing issues and help connect residents with the resources they need to be successful.

Questions?

By working together, we can make Bartow beautiful one neighborhood at a time. For any questions or more information about the Capital City Clean-Up initiative, contact Tray Towles, Code Enforcement Manager at (863) 534-5034 ext. 5076.

August Focus Area

During the month of August, the City will target neighborhoods extending from Flamingo to Georgi and Central to 8th (See map below.) All residents in that area have been alerted to the initiative.
