City Manager

Mike Herr was hired as Bartow City Manager in January 2023. Herr, a long-time public servant, previously served as City Manager in Winter Haven and Plant City as well as Polk County Manager, among other high level municipal positions.

The City Manager is hired by and directly reports to the five elected City Commissioners. All department heads and department supervisors, the Clerk's office and the Assistant City Manager report directly to Mr. Herr.

The City Manager's office and a general receptionist are located at City Hall, 450 North Wilson Ave.
