Special Magistrate hearings are held the last Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. in the City Commission Chambers of Bartow City Hall located at 450 N. Wilson Avenue, Bartow, Florida.

City Ordinance Chapter 38, 171-179 “YEAR-ROUND WATER CONSERVATION MEASURES AND WATER SHORTAGE ORDINANCE” was enacted 10/01/07 for the enforcement of water restrictions. Only warnings have been issued so far. However, The City of Bartow Code Enforcement is now issuing violation notices pursuant to the ordinance. The penalty for violation of the city ordinance is:

First violation - $ 50.00
Second violation - $ 75.00
Third violation - $100.00
Fourth violation - $150.00
Fifth violation - $200.00
Sixth & subsequent violations - $300.00

The restrictions in place are those set by Southwest Water Management District (SWFWMD). You can find the current water restrictions on their website.
